Hiruni Wijayaratne

Hiruni Wijayaratne is a Sri Lankan-American elite runner, who has coached many runners around the world in the past 10 years. She holds 10 Sri Lankan National records, from distances of 1 mile to the marathon. She is also South Asia's fastest female marathoner in history. Hiruni has represented Sri Lanka in multiple World Championships and Continental Championships, with her best finish recorded in the 2019 Asian Games Marathon, where she won Sri Lanka's first ever Gold medal in the women's marathon.

Hiruni began coaching to share her passion for the sport with others. Since then, she has coached athletes at all levels, from first time marathoners/ half marathons, to those attempting to qualify for Boston and the US Olympic trials. Hiruni works a full time job outside of her running career and understands the demands of life and family on training. She looks forward to sharing her approach to prioritizing running aspirations among the other aspects of life with you.
